Return & Refund Policy

1. Scope
This policy applies to all products purchased from autopartsstore.lk — including car parts, batteries, accessories, and related automotive items.
By placing an order on autopartsstore.lk, you agree to the terms outlined below.
2. Returns — When You Can Return
You may request a return if any of the following apply:
- The product was delivered damaged, broken, or defective.
- The product delivered does not match the product you ordered (wrong model, wrong SKU etc.).
- The product is incomplete — missing parts, accessories or documentation.
- You received the wrong product entirely due to our error.
Exceptions / Non-returnable items:
- Items damaged due to improper installation, misuse, accidents or normal wear & tear.
- Items without original packaging, seal (if applicable), or original accessories.
- Batteries or sealed automotive batteries once delivered — unless damaged in transit (see battery clause below).
- Items marked as “Final Sale”, “Clearance”, or “Non-returnable” at the time of purchase.
3. Batteries, Electrical & High-risk Items Clause
Because automotive batteries and certain electrical parts are sensitive to handling and may lose value quickly, these items are non-returnable once sold — except when:
- The battery or item is delivered damaged, leaking, or does not match the ordered SKU.
- You notify us within 24 hours of delivery, send photos of damage or defect, and return the item unused and unopened.
4. How to Request a Return / Refund
To request a return or refund:
- Email us at sales@autopartsstore.lk or call +94777 471 817 within 3 days (72 hours) of delivery, depending on the issue. Provide:
- Order number & date
- Photos of product and packaging (especially for damaged/defective items)
- Description of issue
- We will respond within 48 hours with next steps — whether to return or exchange the item, or to issue a refund.
- If approved, return the item in the original packaging and with all accessories, manuals, warranties, and original invoice/receipt.
- We will inspect the returned item. If the fault is confirmed, we’ll issue a refund (or replacement) within 7 business days.
5. Refund Method & Timing
- Refunds will be processed via the same payment method you used (credit card, bank transfer, cash-on-delivery reversal).
- Processing time may vary depending on payment gateway or bank — usually takes 3–14 business days after we confirm receipt of returned item.
- Shipping costs for returning the item may be borne by the customer — unless the return is due to our error (wrong item, damaged item) — in which case we cover the return shipping.
6. Exchanges
We offer exchanges if:
- You received a wrong product, or
- The item is defective/damaged (as per section 2 above).
Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If the same item is not available, you may request a refund instead.
7. Cancellation Policy
- Orders can be cancelled within 2 hours of placing — provided the order has not yet shipped.
- Once the order is shipped / dispatched, it cannot be cancelled; you may request a return subject to our return policy.
8. Warranty & Manufacturer Defects
- Some products (e.g. batteries, branded parts) may come with manufacturer’s warranty, independent of autopartsstore.lk’s policy.
- For warranty claims: contact the manufacturer’s authorized service centre. autopartsstore.lk will assist by providing invoices and purchase proof if needed — but warranty fulfillment depends on manufacturer policy.
9. How to Ship Returns
When approved:
- Pack the item securely in the original packaging (or equivalent) to prevent damage during transit.
- Include your order number and a cover note describing reason for return.

We recommend using a trackable courier service. autopartsstore.lk is not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit if not using trackable shipping.
10. Disclaimer & Our Rights
autopartsstore.lk reserves the right to:
- Refuse return requests if product does not meet return conditions (opened battery, used items, missing parts, misuse, etc.).
- Deduct a restocking fee (up to 10–20%) from the refund amount for items returned without reason (e.g. buyer remorse), or if items are not in original condition.
- Update or amend this policy at any time — changes will be published on this page, and apply to future orders.
